Long story short… We left the Ft. Myers Yacht Basin yesterday and motored up about 5 miles to a friend’s place on a canal. We aren’t being charged to dock and can continue to work on the boat. Hopefully we will only need to stay a few weeks. The water in the canal is so clear. We may even be able to assess the state of our rudder without having to haul out in Port Charlotte.
