We have two types of paint for our last coats. Both are black but one is a bit better and has a slime inhibitor. That goes on the upper part of the bottom where we get more light and more growth.

That’s a paint roller extension. Should help for the next coat.

I ground out all of the bad spots in the fiberglass. Doesn’t look like any of the delamination was structural. I’ll lay a layer or two of fiberglass over the seams to be safe.
I also drilled out the existing bolt holes. I’ll fill them with thickened epoxy and re-drill them the proper size. Hopefully that’ll make the rudder waterproof.
We have to get this done so we have time for the epoxy, barrier coat, and paint to dry before we go in the water. A bit of rain is on the way so that complicates things.

We’ll get another coat on in a few hours.

Getting barrier coat on the spots where the straps will go. Need to get paint on this afternoon. Weather isn’t looking good for curing epoxy and paint.

Woke up this morning to a rudder full of water. That’s bad! Hooked up the Shop Vac all day to help dry it out. Grinded the last two spots on the hull. Will fiberglass and epoxy tomorrow. Still cool at night but the Mosquitos are out already.
