We need to re-stow some things to handle the heel (tilt) of the boat under sail. We made quite a mess. She performed admirably though. 5 kts or so under a roughly trimmed stays’l and main only on a close reach in 10-15 kt winds.

What a great adventure you guys are doing, reminds me of my younger unencumbered days. I’m sure you get lots of advice from all kinds of people but consider the Dry Tortugas on your way home, although it may be too late for that kind of a course change. Also, good point about stowing things, you never know when a sudden gust will come out of no where, and before you know it, you’ve got a rail buried with all the chaos that follows.
