Caught a huge Spanish Mackerel! Still 42 nautical miles from Key West. Tired. Ready to get there. Nice weather. Running along at about 4kts. Dolphins followed at our bow for a while. They were huge and playful.

cant tell for sure but that almost looks like a small king mackerel. Very nice either way!

I think you’re right. The spots don’t quite look right for a Spanish Mackerel. The dorsal fin doesn’t look right for either though, at least not in the book I have. We did measure to be sure it was legal in case it was a kingfish. Either way though it was tasty.
